Physician, psychotherapist and coach
I am a physician, psychotherapist, and coach. My work centers on the science of how the body and mind regulate under stress.
My training is in behavioral medicine and in cognitive and behavioral therapy. From the start, one question has driven me: what happens in the body and the brain when we are under pressure, and how that knowledge can be put to use.
I pursued that question inside research settings. From 2001 to 2003 I held a research associate position at Stanford University's Stress and Health Laboratory, and from 2009 to 2011 at the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. For several years I directed the medical psychology department at Rabin Medical Center in Israel.
I returned to Paris in 2013, where I practice as a psychotherapist and coach and direct the Institut de Médecine Corps-Esprit. I served as vice-president of the French Association for Behavioral Medicine.
I also write: a monthly column, "Corps & Esprit," for Cerveau & Psycho, and contributions to Psychologies Magazine. My books are published by Odile Jacob; the most recent is Vivre en accord avec soi. Across clinical practice, research work, and writing, the through-line is the same: the science of regulation, how we restore the capacity to think, decide, and act when stress takes it offline.
